Green Cemeteries
There are two groups providing direction on green cemeteries – The Green Burial Council (GBC) and Natural End™ Network (NEN). The Green Burial Council certifies four categories of cemeteries: Hybrid Burial Grounds, Low-Impact Burial Grounds, Natural Burial Grounds and Conservation Burial Grounds. The Natural End™ Network lists funeral directors and cemeteries who sign pledges to provide basic natural services to families.
Valley Memorial Park (GBC certified)
Green Burial Council certified green cemetery. The cemetery is located at 3809 SE Tualatin Valley Hwy, Hillsboro, OR 97123.
Portland
White Eagle Memorial Preserve (GBC certified)
A 20 acre cemetery set within 1300 wild acres of protected oak and ponderosa forest and meadow near the Columbia River Gorge in Washington State. Green Burial Council certified.
